Gynecological Cancers

Bringing you comprehensive information about different types of Gynecological Cancers

AOI > Cancer Types > Gynecological Cancers

Gynecological Cancer

Gynecological Cancer is a branch of cancer treatment that is specialized in the treatment of cancers originating in the female reproductive system. These include ovarian cancers, vaginal cancers, cervical cancers, amongst others. Most women affected with cancer have a genetic predisposition, although that alone cannot be the only reason for the development of these cancers. An unhealthy lifestyle, excessive weight, smoking, and consumption of narcotics also increases the risk propensity of the disease.

Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer is a commonly seen cancer in the ovaries. In many cases, the detection of ovarian cancer does not happen until it has already spread to the pelvis and other abdominal regions. The lack of symptoms in the early stages of the disease makes it rather difficult to detect the condition early.
