How often should I be screened for renal cancer?
People who have a higher risk of kidney cancer are recommended to get regular imaging tests such as CT, MRI, or ultrasound scans at younger ages, to look for kidney tumors.
When diagnosed early, kidney cancers can be cured. However, it is important to tell your doctor if any of your family members have or had kidney cancer, especially at a younger age, or if they have been diagnosed with an inherited condition that’s linked to this cancer.
Though some tests can diagnose kidney cancers early, none of these are recommended to people who are at average risk.
