Dr TH Tomcha Singh is one of the most experienced and best cancer specialist in Manipur. He is a Radiation Oncologist at American Oncology Institute, Imphal.

Dr Tomcha earned his MBBS from Gauhati University in 1975 and MD from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1984. Also, he gained a Professional Diploma in Clinical Research.

Dr Tomcha, a qualified expert in Radiation Oncology completed his training in Brachytherapy from Royal Marsden Hospital, London and Christie Hospital, Manchester. Besides, he earned the prestigious award for outstanding contribution in the field of Oncology by Dr B. Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati.

Also, Dr Tomcha has been conferred with a couple of fellowships, including: Fellow of All India Medicos Society, Joseph Travelling Fellowship conferred by “Association of Radiation Oncologists of India”, Paul Harris Fellow conferred by “Rotary International” and Fellow of Indian College of Radiation Oncologists.

With experience that spans over four decades, Dr Tomcha has served various institutions and hospitals that include: Professor & Head of Radiotherapy Deptartment at RIMS (17 years), Head, Regional Cancer Centre, RIMS, Imphal (11 years), Dean, School of Medical Sciences, Manipur University (3 years) and Shija Hospitals, Langola.

Among many achievements, Dr Tomcha is one of the pioneers to start P.G.(MD) training course in Radiotherapy since 2001, the only one of its kind in whole NE during that time. Also, he raised department of Radiotherapy to the status of “Oncology Wing” in 2005 under “National Cancer Control Program” which was eventually raised to Regional and Tertiary Cancer Center in 2006 and 2013, respectively.

Dr Tomcha has presented over hundred papers at international/national conferences including one in “American Society of Clinical Oncology”, Chicago, USA, June, 2007 and ICRO, Kyoto, Japan, 1993. Also, he has published about 60 papers in International and National journals.

Dr Tomcha is a founding and life member of several prestigious institutes and associations, including: Association of Radiation Oncologists of India, Indian Medical Association, Indo-Japan Association, Association of Medical Physicists of India and Founder Member, Indian College of Radiation Oncologists of India, among several other.
