Bladder Cancer

Follow-up Care

After completing the bladder cancer treatment, the survivors must undergo routine monitoring. The scheduled follow-up visit plan is provided to the survivors during discharge. The frequency of follow-up visit schedules and types of tests and examinations depends upon the type of treatment. For instance, patients with no bladder removal undergo a cystoscopy examination every three months for the first couple of years. In addition, patients who underwent urinary diversion should be frequently checked for urinary tract infections.
