Risk Factors

The risk factors associated with the NETs are:

  • Excessive smoking and drinking alcohol
  • Underlying medical conditions such as diabetes and chronic atrophic gastritis
  • Hereditary conditions, such as multiple endocrine neoplasia, neurofibromatosis type 1, Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome, and tuberous sclerosis
  • Family history of any cancer type
