Stage 1 :
The cancer is limited to the thymus and does not spread to lymph nodes or distant organs.
Stage 2 :
At stage III, cancer spreads to nearby organs, such as lungs, larger blood vessels, or pericardium (sac-like structure surrounding the heart).
Stage 3 :
Cancer spreads to the chest cavity lining or into the fat surrounding the thymus.
Stage 4 :
Cancer spreads to distant organs and lymph nodes.
