Before the treatment process, diagnosing and staging of cancer is important. The type of treatment for musculoskeletal cancer is based on the stage and spread of cancer. Early-stage cancers (stages I and II) are treated with surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or a combination of these interventions. However, advanced-stage cancers (stages III and IV) require combinatorial therapy. Surgical interventions include limb salvage surgery, cryosurgery, bone cement, amputation and reconstructive surgery. In advanced cancer or cancer metastasis, targeted therapy and immunotherapy are also prescribed.
