Fortunately, in several cases, the cancer is completely cured through treatment. However, patients worry about cancer recurrence. Thus, a follow-up visit plan is provided to the patient after treatment completion and the patient is discharged. A follow-up visit is important to detect cancer recurrence and monitor the side effects of the treatment, as certain cancer treatments have long-term side effects. The patient may expect imaging tests, such as ultrasound, CT, or MRI, and blood tests to determine any signs of cancer. Further, survivors should not ignore any symptom in the groin area and throughout the body, as it may indicate cancer recurrence (metastatic cancer).
