Symptoms

    Patients with melanoma may experience the following symptoms:

    • A new mole or a change in the appearance of an existing mole
    • Jagged border spot with multiple colors
    • Dark skin ban around toenails or fingernails
    • Patch of thick skin that is growing and similar to a scar
    • Black or dark vertical line present below the toenail or fingernail
    • Firm, dome-shaped growth that may bleed and looks similar to a sore
