Dr Muhammed Rifayi V is a highly skilled and experienced Medical Oncologist currently serving as a Consultant in Medical Oncology at American Oncology Institute, Calicut. With a rich background in oncology, he has dedicated his career to providing comprehensive cancer care and has extensive expertise in treating a wide range of solid tumors and hematological malignancies.
Before joining American Oncology Institute, Dr Rifayi served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical and Hematology Oncology at Government Medical College, Kozhikode, Kerala. During this tenure, he gained invaluable experience in managing complex oncology cases and developed advanced skills in performing various medical procedures, including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, PICC line and central line insertions, and intrathecal chemotherapies.
Dr Rifayi’s clinical expertise covers neoadjuvant, adjuvant, concurrent, and definitive chemotherapy for solid tumors, lymphomas, and myeloma. He is well-versed in the administration of hormonal therapies, immunotherapy, and palliative chemotherapy, focusing on improving the quality of life for cancer patients. He has also played a significant role in the management of chemotherapy complications, including febrile neutropenia.
In addition, Dr Rifayi has specialized training in performing autologous stem cell transplants for conditions such as multiple myeloma, relapsed lymphomas, neuroblastoma, and germ cell tumors. His patient-centric approach, combined with his expertise in advanced oncology treatments, ensures the delivery of personalized and evidence-based care.
