The types of esophageal cancer are:

  • Adenocarcinoma: There are mucus-secreting glands in the esophagus. Adenocarcinoma occurs in the cells of these glands.
  • Other types: The other rare types of esophageal cancer are sarcoma, melanoma, small cell carcinoma, and choriocarcinoma.
