Follow-up care after completion of the osteosarcoma is essential. It helps in diagnosing cancer recurrence at an early stage. Further, treatment of osteosarcoma has several side effects, many of which are long-term. Thus, the survivors are evaluated for treatment-related side effects during the follow-up care. The survivors should not ignore any of the symptoms related to the lungs, liver, stomach, or bone (at another body part), as cancer may recur through metastasis. Strictly adhering to follow-up visits improves survival and lowers the side effects of treatment.
