During the follow-up care, the oncologists look for any signs of cancer recurrence. The patient may also undergo imaging tests to rule out any cancer growth. It is essential not to skip any of the scheduled follow-up visits because, despite aggressive treatment, not all cancer cells may be killed. The remaining cancer cells again grow to form a tumor that may worsen the situation.
